Poetry is for everyone. A sense of ownership in the gift of poetry is something everyone should feel they have - and only when poetry is accessible to all will that happen.
And THAT will be transformative.
Gris Literatura seeks to engender greater appreciation of, and participation in, poetry - for both writers and the community at large.
We believe language is a peculiar and unique gift to humankind - capable of conveying so much, from the simplest expression or instruction to defining both individual selves & whole communities.
At Gris Literatura, we consider language and the creative use of it to be the birthright of every person. And so we are committed to expanding the scope & accessibility of resources for both the lovers & writers of poetry - whether that be through classes, workshops, readings, podcasts, or open mics.
